Privoxy ialah proxy ad blocker filter. Proxy ertinya orang tengah antara pelayar web dengan internet. Semua web browser, RSS reader dan sebagainya yang menyokong proxy boleh menggunakan Privoxy Ini bermakna web browser seperti Opera, firefox, safari, internet explorer, chrome, semualah boleh menggunakan Privoxy. Sebagai perbandingan, AdBlock Plus hanya untuk Gecko base browser.
Web filter ertinya menapis kandungan web dalam masa nyata. Biasanya iklan akan ditapis. Selain itu boleh juga mengubah background, kill pragma no-cache, menukar user agent, blok domain atau katakunci tertentu, membunuh javascript yang mengada-ngada dan sebaginya.
Hasilnya internet akan jadi lebih pantas, laju dan selamat.
Privoxy boleh digunakan untuk semua jenis sistem operasi. Ia percuma dan open source.
The Privoxy privacy proxy (based on the Internet Junkbuster) filters outbound http and https requests and inbound replies, allowing you to block access to undesirable sites, block popups, block tracking gifs, etc. To install, place sa-blacklist.current.action in /etc/privoxy/ (your path may differ, based on operating system) and edit the “config” file there (note, this was previously called sa-blacklist.current.actions). Add the:
